This is probably the worse ...

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Alan Smith suffered a broken leg and dislocated ankle in the defeat against Liverpool.

"It's a real bad one and we're all thinking of Alan at this moment in time."

"Alan showed the courage he has with the way he accepted it and just put his hand up and waved for the physio right away. He has unbelievable courage," added Sir Alex.

"It's a really bad one and it's going to be a long term injury. But he knows we're completely in support of him.

"The best we can make of the situation is to try and win the Carling Cup for him next week."

Liverpool was very supportive;
United's medical team were given help by Liverpool club doctor Mark Waller as the midfielder waited to be carried off.

"We're all so sorry and we can only wish him all the best for the future." (Rafael Benitez)

it was really good of them to do this, ronaldo almost cried, which summed up what many people would feel.
Good luck to liverpool for the rest of the FA cup campaign. And good luck to che tmr.

Get Well Soon!
